Thank you for your interest in SFDesigns. Here are some answers to our most frequently asked questions. If we haven't answered your question, do not hesitate to e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Where is the jewellery made?
All of our jewellery is designed and handcrafted in our studio in London, Ontario.
How soon will my order be shipped?
Due to the handmade and custom nature of our designs, we typically ship within 7 - 14 business days. If your order is urgent please e-mail us at email@example.com and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Will the letters be perfectly straight?
Each letter is hand stamped one letter or number at a time. Slight variations may occur with letter/number placement or spacing. We believe this adds to the character of the piece making it truly one-of-a-kind. Every attempt is made to make the placement of the characters consistent but because the piece is stamped by hand, there may be some irregularities.
Can you stamp on both sides?
Since the stamping is done by hammering/impressing letters or numbers into the silver, the deep impression sometimes causes shadows on the back of the charm. Please contact us if you desire stamping on both sides and we would be happy to discuss which designs work best.
What does the symbol mean?
When you see this symbol it means the design is made from reclaimed/ recycled metal or from a third party certified, ethically mined metal.
What length necklace should I order?
Determining Your Ring Size
We recommend having your finger sized at a jewellery store or ordering one of our ring sizers available here under A La Carte.
Your ring should fit your finger comfortably. Snug enough to not fall off but loose enough to slide over your knuckle.
Finger size fluctuates depending on the weather and the time of day. Fingers are smaller when you wake up and when you are cold. Measure your finger at the end of the day and size 2 - 3 times to be sure you find your perfect size.
How do I clean my sterling silver jewellery?
We suggest you try using a polishing cloth to clean your silver or you can purchase a polishing pad from our website in our A La Carte section. For deep cleaning put some baking soda into your hand and add a few drops of water to make a paste. Rub the paste into the silver, using a toothbrush to get the paste deep into the piece especially for chains.
To clean multiple pieces at one time:
* Line a pan with aluminum foil.* Place jewellery on aluminum foil. All parts of your jewellery must touch the foil.* Add 2-3 inches of nearly boiling water over jewellery just to cover.* 1 tsp baking soda and salt. Leave for 5-10 minutes.* Rinse jewellery thoroughly with warm water.* Dry with a soft cloth.
Store your jewellery in the plastic bag with the anti-tarnish tab included with your order. Store away from moisture.
Caring for your jewellery.
Sterling silver will oxidize (tarnish) with age. Oxygen in the air will cause the silver to tarnish. Lotions, perfume, chlorine and sweat also affect silver. Please do not wear your silver in pools or hot tubs. Ideally, your jewellery should be the last thing you put on in the morning and the first thing you take off at night.
Leather designs are not intended to get wet. If they do, it can cause the leather to stretch.
